AEG. or an Automatic Electric Gun which uses an electric motor powered by a rechargable battery. An electric assult rifle or machine gun is the most popular of the three types of airsoft mechanisms, and is the first choice for most airsoft enthusiasts.
The motor or gear box inside the gun compresses and releases a piston, which creates blast of air and fires a 6mm BB. It is a reliable system and enables the gun to support the fully-automatic features of most AEG airsoft rifles. Most automatic airsoft rifles have a rate-of-fire (ROF) from 600 to 900 rounds-per-minute (RPM), which in turn replicates the performance of real firearms.
